Standup comedian Alex Edelman has quickly become one of the most popular comics in the U.S., as his Orthodox Jewish upbringing has informed critically and commercially acclaimed work for the stage and screen.

The Alliance Theatre will be featuring his new work, Just for Us, Jan. 5-7 on the Coca-Cola Stage.

Directed by Adam Brace, this singular theatrical experience is an exploration of identity and the collective capacity for empathy.

The story takes place in the wake of a string of anti-Semitic rhetoric pointed in Edelman’s direction online, and he decides to go straight to the source—specifically, Queens, NY—where he covertly attends a meeting of White Nationalists and comes face-to-face with the people behind the keyboards. What happens next forms the backbone of the shockingly relevant, utterly hilarious show.
