A modern Broadway favorite is taking the Byers Theatre stage to celebrate a special Ruby Anniversary.

Broadway star Jessica Vosk (Wicked) is joining the Atlanta Gay Men’s Chorus for a celebration of 40 years of music-making and community-building on April 10th at 3:00 and 7:30 p.m. The concert will be held at the Byers Theatre of the Sandy Springs Performing Arts Center, 1 Galambos Way, Sandy Springs, GA 30328.

Jessica Vosk first graced the Atlanta stage in the World Premiere of Becoming Nancy at the Alliance Theater in 2019. There, she met the AGMC’s Artistic Director Donald Milton III, and they began dreaming up a future collaboration. Almost three years later, that dream is becoming a reality.

“We are thrilled and gratified that Ms. Vosk will join us for our celebration of the AGMC’s 40th anniversary,” said Donald Milton III, the current artistic director of the AGMC. “It’s not every day that we mark such a milestone as this, and I am grateful that she has chosen to collaborate in our ‘Rubyversary’! It is sure to be a special concert that audiences won’t want to miss.”

The admiration is mutual.

“Choral singing was my introduction to this career I love so very much, so it’s been a dream of mine to be able to revisit my roots," gushes Vosk. "And now I get to sing with the incredible Atlanta Gay Men’s Chorus!?! Pinch me. The gay community has been so incredibly kind and supportive of my journey, and now I’m the luckiest girl to be able to share a room with the gorgeously talented men who continue to lift me up!”

About AGMC's 40th Anniversary Concert

The 2021-22 season is the AGMC’s 40th, which is traditionally celebrated as the ruby anniversary. The inner fire of a ruby is thought to represent the burning flame of passion in the hearts of those who have been together for 40 years. This exciting anniversary show will include some of the favorite songs the AGMC has performed over its four decades, including "Tired of the Silence," "Can't Help Lovin' That Man of Mine," "Brothers Sing On," “Spaséniye Sodélal,” and "Sound Off.” The chorus will premiere several new works, including one by legendary Broadway composer Stephen Schwartz. It will also feature many previous directors conducting the all-time greatest hits.

About Jessica Vosk

Like the members of the Atlanta Gay Men’s Chorus, Jessica Vosk did not begin her career as a full-time artist. She worked a 9-to-5 on Wall Street and would perform at open mics in Manhattan. Now, Vosk is a celebrated singer and actress known for stirring roles on the musical theater and concert stage. She made her Carnegie Hall debut in November 2021 in a sold-out solo show titled “My Golden Age.”

She is most known for her acclaimed run as Elphaba in Wicked on Broadway, having played the role for two years. Vosk starred in New York City Ballet’s Jerome Robbins tribute Something to Dance About, directed by Warren Carlyle, and re-created the role of Fruma Sarah in the most recent Broadway revival of Fiddler on the Roof. Other Broadway credits include Fiddler on the Roof, Finding Neverland, and The Bridges of Madison County.

Tickets to Jessica Vosk with the Atlanta Gay Men's Chorus

Tickets start at $36 and can be purchased at: https://www.voicesofnote.org or by calling 404-320-1030.
