Atlanta Shakespeare Company will present William Shakespeare’s classic Romeo and Juliet through March 3.

This is the theatre’s 21st anniversary production of the Bard’s tragic love story. Olivia Dawson directs her first show at the Atlanta Shakespeare Company with this production, considered among Shakespeare’s most popular plays during his lifetime and one of his most frequently performed.

Tommy Sullivan-Lovett and Golbanoo Setayesh star as the star-crossed lovers.

The well-known story follows the love story of a Montague and Capulet, scions of two feuding families who shed one another’s blood. When Romeo and Juliet fall in love, they battle family, friends and circumstances in an attempt to be together.

The young couple’s passion leads to a series of tragic events, including secret meetings, misunderstandings, and ultimately, their untimely deaths, which serve as a catalyst for reconciliation between their warring families.
