Theatrical Outfit will present Remember This: The Lesson of Jan Karski, a genre-defying true story focusing on World War II hero and Holocaust witness, Jan Karski.
The critically-acclaimed play, directed by Derek Goldman, will make its Atlanta debut Jan. 24 through Feb. 18 at the Balzer Theater at Herren’s.
After surviving the devastation of the Blitzkrieg, Karski swears allegiance to the Polish Underground and risks his life to carry the first eyewitness reports of war-torn Poland to the Western world and, ultimately, the White House. Andrew Benator stars as the Polish emissary.
The play reaches further than the historical realities of WWII and the Holocaust and explores contemporary dilemmas of an individual’s moral responsibility to act when faced with atrocities and injustice in their midst.
The original theatrical production of Remember This: The Lesson of Jan Karski, co-written by Clark Young and Derek Goldman, was produced by The Laboratory for Global Performance and Politics at Georgetown University.
The play is recommended for audiences ages 13 and older.
