La bohème, Giacomo Puccini’s transcendent masterpiece, will be performed by the Atlanta Opera from Jan. 20-28 at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre.

La bohème, by librettists Luigi Illica and Giuseppe Giacosa, captures the essence of love, loss, and life. This tragic story of four friends clinging to each other as harsh realities of life threaten to tear them apart has been told time and again now and is considered one of opera’s greatest works.

Directed by Tomer Zvulun, artistic director of the Atlanta Opera since 2013, and conducted by Jonathan Brandani, the opera will be performed in Italian with English supertitles.

The cast features acclaimed tenor Long Long as Rodolfo, Gabriella Reyes as Mimì, Zachary Nelson as Marcello, Madison Leonard as Musetta, and Christian Simmons as Colline.
