Human trafficking isn’t something Atlantans expect to find in their backyard. But according to the nonprofit organization Wellspring Living, roughly 100 girls under the age of 18 are sexually trafficked every night. These girls have a life expectancy of seven years.
Wellspring Living offers a haven for sex trade victims and helps them rebuild their lives and recover from the atrocities they have suffered.
On Sept. 17, there will be a Stop Injustice 5K run in Peachtree City to raise funds and awareness of this modern-day form of slavery. The entry fee for individual runners is $30; groups also are welcome.
