For the weekend of March 9-10, the Fox Theatre has two special events, which are sure to delight comedy lovers and those who are interested in the science of the universe.

First up is a comedy show by Ron White on Saturday, March 9 beginning at 8 p.m. The iconic comedian, known for his cigar-chomping, scotch-swirling brand of humor and nicknamed “Tater Salad” by his fans, brings an all-new comedy set for the night.

White is a charter member of the Blue Collar Comedy Tour and author of the New York Times best seller, I Had the Right to Remain Silent But I Didn’t Have the Ability.

Over his career, he’s been nominated for two Grammys for his comedy albums; four of his albums have charted No. 1 on the Billboard Comedy Charts.

For those who want to stimulate the mind more than the funny bone, the Fox Theatre will welcome Neil deGrasse Tyson and his The Search for Life in the Universe tour on Sunday, March 10 at 3 p.m.

The noted astrophysicist, author, and science communicator will talk about the ongoing effort to search for habitable planets, liquid water and life in the cosmos, culminating in the search for intelligent life.

Tysons has the uncanny ability to simplify complex cosmic concepts that the average person understands and finds entertaining, and his shows strive to be fun, interesting and educational.

Tickets for both shows are available at FoxTheatre.org.
