The Miami-based Museum of Graffiti will bring its traveling exhibition, Sneaker Stories, sponsored by the Modelo company, to Atlanta’s Ponce City Market for a limited engagement May 31 to June 2.

The free exhibition explores the rich history and evolving relationship between graffiti art and sneaker culture, and features insightful displays that showcase rare sneakers alongside the art that inspired them.

The Sneaker Stories pop-up offers an immersive experience, presented as a faux sneaker store, that explores the significant collaborations between graffiti artists and major global brands such as Nike, Adidas, and Reebok.

Guests will embark on a 20-year journey, discovering how sneakers have become more than just footwear and are now a crucial part of urban culture and art. Limited-edition sneakers will be on display alongside their corresponding original artworks by notable artists such as Futura, Cey Adams, Eric Haze, Claw Money, and Faust, whose exclusive designs can fetch up to $20,000 on the secondary market.

“Through Sneaker Stories, we aim to recognize and celebrate the artists from the global graffiti movement who have made their mark on major American brands like Nike, Reebok, and Adidas,” says Alan Ket, co-founder of the Museum of Graffiti. “Thanks to our collaboration with Modelo, we’re bringing this unique cultural experience to Atlanta, allowing the community to explore the stories behind the art and the artists who have been misunderstood due to misconceptions about spray paint.”

A panel discussion entitled “Fighting Spirit Stories” with Cey Adams, moderated by Atlanta’s Dr. Dax, will take place on June 1, at 6:30 p.m. Following the discussion, there will be a release and signing of a limited-edition print. Seating for this event will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The hours for the exhibition are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
