The Marietta Theatre Company has released its newest schedule, with Honeymoon in Vegas kicking things off in the new theatre space at the larger performance space at Marietta’s Theatre in the Square. The show will run through March 9.
With a theme of “Hittin’ the Road” in honor of the change, the theatre’s lineup also features the musicals, Hands on a Hardbody (June 13-29), Bonnie & Clyde (Aug. 15-24) and Jimmy Buffett’s Escape to Margaritaville (Nov. 7-16).
Marietta Theatre Company and Theatre in the Square, both non-profit organizations, have partnered this year to bolster the arts in the area, keeping funding among theatrical organizations, create arts jobs and reach expanded audiences.
“Theatre in the Square is thrilled to be a part of a partnership set that will enrich the region’s cultural landscape,” said N. Emil Thomas, Theatre in the Square’s artistic director “What we are attempting with this partnership is typically only seen in regional houses. It is time for us as the art community to pool our resources together and create a model that will launch us into the next decade of live entertainment.”
Thanks to the new space, performances will feature a range of prices to suit various budgets, with season tickets starting at $82.
