Continuing a holiday tradition that is going on 13 years (halted during the pandemic), the Horizon Theatre will welcome back Madeline’s Christmas from December 2 to 31.

The show follows the beloved Madeline and friends for a magical musical adaption of Ludwig Bemelmans’ classic children’s tale. Based on his popular books, the musical was written by Jennifer Kirkeby with music by Shirley Mier.

Produced by Horizon Theatre in collaboration with Atlanta Children’s Theatre, Madeline’s Christmas will feature 24 local girls performing alongside professional actors Kenedi Deal and Shanessa Sweeney. This year’s cast features girls from fivemetro Atlanta counties and more than 20 different schools.

In the production’s 13-year history, more than 275 local girls have realized their dream of performing with a professional theatre company as part of the cast.

After a trip to the zoo on a December day, Madeline finds she is the only one who hasn’t caught the flu and sets out to help everyone have the Christmas of their dreams. It’s a holiday treat for the whole family.

Tickets are $15 for youth (ages 18 and under) and $18 for adults. For more information, visit horizontheatre.com.
