NBC-TV’s Saturday Night Live has long been known for its Weekend Update parody news segments, which date back to original anchor Chevy Chase in 1975.
Current co-anchors Colin Jost and Michael Che are the longest-tenured hosts in SNL history, with both coming aboard the desk in 2014, and next season—SNL’s 49th—will mark their 10th year together.
On Sept. 16, the two SNL Weekend Update hosts will perform together at the Fox Theatre in what they are dubbing, “The No Lives Matter” tour.
Expect the two to engage in the ribbing that they do to one another on Saturday nights and talk about timely topics as they would on Weekend Update. But both are standups in their own right and will deliver their takes on the world around us in a comical way. Don’t be surprised if the writers’ strike pops up as a topic, given that the long work stoppage is what’s created the opportunity for the two comedians to hit the road in the first place.
