Christone “Kingfish” Ingram has announced the first set of dates for his 2022 tour in support of his critically and popularly acclaimed Alligator album, 662.
Entitled Christone “Kingfish” Ingram Presents 662: Juke Joint Live, the tour is a partnership with Nashville-based Outback Presents, and will take the 22-year-old guitarist, vocalist and songwriter across the country with dates beginning March 2022 and going through May. This will include a stop at Atlanta Symphony Hall on March 11, 2022.
About 662: Juke Joint Live
Ingram stated, “I’m very excited to continue my ‘662 Juke Joint Live’ tour and to partner with Outback Presents to reach current and new fans in larger, more iconic music venues across the country. Just like a Mississippi juke joint, these shows will be high-energy, jumping, and lots of fun.”
Since the release of Kingfish, his Grammy-nominated 2019 Alligator Records debut Ingram has quickly become the defining blues voice of his generation. Rolling Stone declared, “Kingfish is one of the most exciting young guitarists in years, with a sound that encompasses B.B. King, Jimi Hendrix and Prince.”
“The world was introduced to me with Kingfish,” Ingram says of his chart-topping debut. “Now with 662, I want the world to hear and meet a different, more personal side of me.” According to Ingram, “662 is a direct reflection of my growth as a musician, a songwriter, a bandleader, and as a young man. This album was written during the pandemic, shortly after I returned home from a whirlwind year and a half of touring and promoting Kingfish. It was an incredible time of change and growth, moments both good and bad, and I am a better and stronger person for it.” 662 overflows with hard-hitting songs, jaw-dropping guitar work and deep, soul-possessed vocals. NPR Music says Ingram’s playing is “astounding…it’s almost like he’s singing through the guitar.”
