GEORGIA ENSEMBLE THEATRE goes inside Hollywood with Moonlight & Magnolias, a 2004 farce that peeks behind the camera as producer-screenwriter David O. Selznick, director Victor Fleming and screenwriter Ben Hecht try to solve the riddle that is Gone With the Wind. The movie-that-almost-wasn’t was saved when these creators locked themselves in an office with a five-day supply of peanuts and bananas. If you know Atlanta theater, you should recognize the players — William S. Murphey (Theatrical Outfit) is Selznick, Bart Hansard (Alliance Theatre) is Fleming and Googie Uterhardt (Atlanta Lyric, Aurora Theatre) is Hecht. Note: The script contains mature language and content. Georgia Ensemble performs at the Roswell Cultural Arts Center.
