Dip into the dating pool with the musical First Date, an OnStage Atlanta production happening at 7 Stages in Little Five Points. The story involves a blind-date newbie and a serial dater who meet in modern-day New York City. They refer to each other, jokingly, as the virgin (because he wears a suit) and the slut (because she has a tattoo). A drink, then dinner at a busy restaurant turns into high-stakes hilarity, with fellow patrons taking on the mantle of best friends, manipulative exes and protective parents. The show made its world premiere in Seattle in 2012 and had a five-month Broadway run in 2013/14. The score includes such ditties as “The One,” “The Awkward Pause” and “Bailout Song #1, #2 and #3.”
