Theatrical Outfit ends its 2016/17 with The Dancing Handkerchief — part magic act, part musical and part puppet show. It features early songs by multi-award-winning composer/lyricist Robert Lopez (Avenue Q, The Book of Mormon, Frozen) and tells the story of Mysterioso the Magician and his curious child, Bastienne. Through an epic separation and reunion, they learn to see each other in a truer, hope-filled light. A Balladeer sings tunes that paint a comic and fantastical world inhabited by a beckoning handkerchief, an otherworldly suitcase, magical creatures and one gigantic, ravenous rabbit. Tom Key, the Outfit’s artistic director, leads the cast as Mysterioso. A co-production with The Flying Carpet Theatre Company in New York.
