The Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre and Encore Atlanta become partners in June, when Encore begins publishing the Centre’s Marquee programs.
Encore, which is owned by Roswell-based American Media Products, already creates print and digital content for Fox Theatre performances, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra concerts, both stages at the Alliance Theatre, the Atlanta Opera’s mainstage productions and Discoveries series, the Rialto Center for the Arts at Georgia State University and the Woodruff Arts Center’s Create ATL program for families. That content reaches more than 4 million patrons each year.
The 2,750-seat Cobb Energy Centre is home to the Atlanta Opera and Atlanta Ballet and has, in its 10-year history, hosted such acts as Harry Connick Jr., Annie Lennox, Billy Crystal, Bill Maher and Bill O’Reilly as well as Broadway shows and the Radio City Rockettes.
The venue, located inside I-285/75 in Atlanta, books a diverse blend of comedians as well as jazz, pop, country, classic rock and R&B artists. It’s comparable to downtown Atlanta’s Tabernacle in size but is fully seated.
June performances at the Cobb Energy Centre include Paul Shaffer and the World’s Most Dangerous Band, with guest vocalist Valerie Simpson (June 11); Travis Wall’s Shaping Sound, After the Curtain (June 14); and astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson (June 15).
