The Atlanta Opera presents a modern production of Donizetti’s greatest masterpiece, Don Pasquale. The Don is an aging silent film star in the golden era of Hollywood and at the sunset of his career. He’s determined to find a wife and heir to his fortune but weds, instead, a widowed gold digger who’s conspiring with his nephew. The comic tale includes a chorus of servants dressed as movie stars. This is the first time Atlanta Opera is performing this bel canto piece. Bass-baritone Burak Bilgili (remember him from 2013’s The Italian Girl in Algiers) plays the title role. Don Pasquale is sung in Italian with English supertitles. All PoshDealz seats are in the B mezzanine at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre.
