The Three Musketeers will raise their swords on stage at the Atlanta Shakespeare Company through June 30.
The classic Alexandre Dumas action-packed swashbuckling novel has been adapted by Ken Ludwig and follows brother and sister D’Artagnan and Sabine who set off for Paris in search of adventure circa 1625. D’Artagnan dreams of joining the King’s valiant Musketeers; meanwhile, Sabine is being sent to a convent school, though concludes quickly that is not the life for her as she’d rather fight by her brother’s side.
Cardinal Richelieu has different plans for both of them. But with their new best friends, Athos, Porthos and Aramis, by their sides, the siblings work to save the day for king and country.
The show stars Daryel T. Monson as D’Artagnan, Anna Holland as Sabine, Gabi Anderson as Constance, O’Neil Delapenha as Porthos and Benedetto Robinson as Athos. Andrew Houchins, now in his 19th season with the ASC, directs the tale.
