The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra offers two of the top music education programs in Georgia—the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra and the Talent Development Program.
Applications are now open for both programs for the 2024-25 season, with the deadline being March 10 at 11:59 p.m.
The Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra, led by William R. Langley, will be celebrating its 50thanniversary, and offers young musicians the chance to study alongside like-minded and talented peers, and take part in orchestral performances. The program is open to rising 8th graders through 12th graders.
Those who are accepted will get coaching from Atlanta Symphony Orchestra musicians, master classes and workshops with guest artists and free tickets to select ASO performances, among other things.
“Young musicians in the metro Atlanta area have the unique opportunity not only to enjoy performances by some of the most talented classical musicians of our generation on the Atlanta Symphony Hall stage, but to learn and train with ASO musicians and guest artists,” said Sarah Grant, director of education for the ASO.

The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra’s Talent Development Program will be entering its 30th anniversary season and looks to mentor, and develop middle and high school Atlanta musicians of African American and Latino heritage for careers as professional classical musicians.
Rising 5th to 10th-grade students are encouraged to apply by March 10 at www.aso.org/audition-information.
