The Southern Circuit Tour of Independent Filmmakers, a curated collaboration of films between the historic Plaza Theatre, the Fox Theatre, and South Arts, is taking place with films scheduled through February.
As a regional arts organization, South Arts has supported artists and cultural initiatives across the Southern United States for decades. This collaboration with The Plaza and The Fox represents an exciting intersection of film, culture and community.
Among the films being screened are “Black Barbie” by Lagueria Davis on October 22 and Aaron Hosé’s “One Pint at a Time” on November. 5.
But audiences can look forward to more than just screenings, each event promises an intimate evening with the directors, offering a unique opportunity for dialogue and insight into their creative processes.
“We invite everyone to join us for these exceptional cinematic experiences,” said Chris Escobar, owner of The Plaza Theatre. “It’s not just about enjoying remarkable films; it’s about becoming part of a movement that ensures the vibrancy of filmmaking in our community and the continued operation of historic theaters like The Plaza.”
