Pelagius was a 5th century Romano-British theologian known for promoting a system of doctrines which emphasized human choice in salvation and denied original sin.

Now, a new musical detailing the events of his life is coming to the Legacy Theatre in Tyrone, taking the stage Sept. 8-17.

The musical features music by award-winning composers, Michael and Lisa Gungor, who, as principals of the band Gungor, have released seven folk/experimental rock studio albums. The story is based on the writings of John Philip Newell, a leading author in the field of Celtic spirituality.

Based on actual events, Pelagius follows the Celtic monk, who defied the religious hierarchy of his day to bring light and hope to an empire on the verge of collapse and tells a universal story of perseverance, sacrifice and grace.
