Around the A (according to the ASO)
In these concerts, ASO musicians perform in various venues “Around the A,” and on Feb. 16 at 4:00 p.m., the free series brings the ASO to the Ray Charles Performing Arts Center at Morehouse College for the 109th Annual Morehouse College Glee Club Concert. The program will feature Scott Joplin’s Treemonisha Overture orchestrated by T.J. Anderson, Roland Carter’s arrangement of Lift Every Voice and Sing, Atlanta-based composer Joel Thompson’s Seven Last Words of the Unarmed, and more. Reserve free tickets via Eventbrite.
Delta Classical Concerts (according to the ASO)
On Feb. 20 and Feb. 22, Danish maestro Thomas Søndergård will return to the ASO to lead an all-Sibelius program, including the famous Finlandia. Canadian violinist Blake Pouliot makes his ASO debut with the Violin Concerto. Thursday evening ticket holders are invited to attend a conversation with conductor Thomas Søndergård in Center Space immediately following the concert.
