Legacy Theater will stage the hit play, Steel Magnolias, April 19 through May 16, under the direction of Rachael Endrizzi.
Penned by American playwright Robert Harling, Steel Magnolias draws inspiration from his personal journey following his sister’s passing. This comedy-drama illuminates the enduring bonds among a circle of Southern women living in northwest Louisiana.
Focused on a collection of chatty Southern ladies in a quaint beauty parlor, Steel Magnolias oscillates between humor and poignancy, unveiling the resilience and determination that lie beneath the lively exchanges of its characters.
The play became a hit movie starring Sally Field, Dolly Parton, Shirley MacLaine and Daryl Hannah in 1989.
The Legacy Theater production stars Amy Bridges as Truvy; Emma Byrd as Shelby; Rebecca Clark as Ouiser; Erika Johnson as Annelle; Kathleen Scott Paul as M’Lynn and Patty Richardson as Clairee.
