Brenda Reid, community relations manager for Publix Super Markets’ Atlanta division, has been named the recipient of this year’s Power of Play award by the Children’s Museum of Atlanta.

The accolade is an annual tribute to those who exemplify the museum’s mission of igniting the imaginations, sense of exploration and learning of every child through the transformative power of play.

Reid will be honored at the 2024 Imagination Ball, an adults-only charity event aimed at making play-based learning accessible to children from all walks of life, on March 23, 2024.

“With her expertise and servant’s heart, Brenda remains an invaluable supporter to the museum,” said Edwin Link, executive director of the Children’s Museum of Atlanta. “She has assisted us in brainstorming creatively and eliminating barriers so that kids from all backgrounds can take advantage of the life-changing impact of play.”

Over her career, Reid’s community involvement and service includes being on boards of several established children’s organizations in Atlanta, including Toys for Tots of Metro Atlanta. She also regularly volunteers time as an affiliate of the Camellia Rose Chapter of The Links, Inc., and she previously served on the DeKalb County Schools Superintendent Advisory Council, the DeKalb Chamber of Commerce, the Birmingham Business Alliance Board of Trustees and Africa’s Children’s Fund.

“It’s an honor to be selected as this year’s Power of Play award recipient,” Reid said. “I couldn’t be prouder to serve as part of a group dedicated to giving kids from different backgrounds and interests the chance to develop their creativity, curiosity and self-confidence through play and learning.”
