The Lawrenceville Arts Center, home of Aurora Theatre, has a plethora of exciting events on tap for September, with events designed for all members of the family.
Throughout the month, there are a series of wonderful theatre performances, concerts, comedy shows and much more.
On Sept. 19, at 7 p.m., Black Barbie: A Documentary will take audiences on a thought-provoking journey, delving into artistry, identity, and cultural significance through the perspective of Mattel insider Beulah Mae Mitchell. Tickets are $5.
For those looking for some laughs, Aurora Comedy Nights, Atlanta’s premier improv ensemble, will showcase Dad’s Garage Comedy, promising uproarious laughter and comedic brilliance, Sept. 29 and 30 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $15.
For families, the Mago Junior Show featuringMago Junior Ascanio, the former clown of Circo Magico Rolan and a national champion of children’s magic, takes audiences on a journey through his zany magical world. The show runs 11:30 a.m. on Sept. 30 at Aurora Children’s Playhouse. Tickets are $7.
Families can also come out for a free showing of the movie Trolls on Sept. 23 at 11:30 a.m. And children will love The Adventures of Tortoise and Hare: The Next Gen, which takes place at 6:30 p.m., Sept. 28. This all-ages spectacle blends high-tech performance with captivating storytelling, as dazzling visual effects and dynamic light and music bring this classic tale to life in an innovative way. Tickets are $18.
