Comedian John Oliver, best known for his work as host and producer of HBO’s hit show, Last Week Tonight, will bring his topical humor to the Fox Theatre on Sunday, Aug. 6.
Tickets for John Oliver Live will go on sale June 9 at 10 a.m.
The British writer and comedian rose to fame as a correspondent on The Daily Show from 2006-2013, and also co-hosted the popular weekly satirical podcast, The Bugle, with Andy Zaltzman. Oliver also had a recurring role on the NBC hit comedy, Community.
Oliver hosted four seasons of his own stand-up series for Comedy Central, titled John Oliver’s New York Stand-Up Show (2010-2013), and has numerous comedy specials. Other notable credits include Big Mouth, Paramount’s Wonder Park, The Detour, Bob’s Burgers, The Smurfs, The Smurfs 2, and Rick & Morty.
Since its debut in 2014, Last Week Tonight has won numerous accolades (several for Oliver personally) including 23 Emmys, five Writer’s Guild Awards, two Critics’ Choice Television Awards, four Television Critics Association Awards, and two Peabodys.
