Aurora Theatre has a lot on tap for May, with the end of the month particularly exciting, especially for comedy fans.

The Lawrenceville theatre will stage The Play That Goes Wrong, the hilarious hybrid of Monty Python and Sherlock Holmes, at the Clyde & Sandra Strickland Grand Stage May 25-27. Heidi Cline McKerley directs.

The popular Broadway play begins on the opening night of the fictitious The Murder at Haversham Manor and everything is going awry, with actors tripping over everything, a corpse who can’t play dead and an unconscious leading lady.

Among other Aurora events: For two nights, May 25-26, Lace Larrabee, former beauty queen and America’s Got Talent semi-finalist, will appear in the Bartow & Leslie Morgan Cabaret for her latest stand-up comedy tour.

Known for her debut comedy album, White Trash Cinderella and the popular podcast, Cheaties, Larrabee is passionate about helping elevate the voices of other women, founding Atlanta’s first and only female stand-up comedy class—Laugh Lab.

A night later, on May 27, one of Atlanta’s more popular improv group returns to the theatre as the troupe from Dad’s Garage participates in fast-paced scenes and games made up on the spot using audience suggestions.
