Friends of Cathedral Music enriches the life of the Cathedral of St. Philip and the broader North Georgia community by presenting a robust annual concert season of choral and instrumental masterworks performed by internationally renowned professional choirs and solo artists, as well as the Cathedral Choirs. Collaborations regularly include the Atlanta Baroque Orchestra, members of Atlanta’s several world-class modern orchestras, a holiday concert with members of the Atlanta Symphony Brass, and special liturgies including a Requiem and several services Lessons & Carols. A free, weekly pre-Evensong recital series on Sundays at 3:15 p.m. from September to May typically features the Cathedral’s magnificent pipe organ, played by top organists from across the USA and abroad. All concerts take place amid the gracious acoustic of the Cathedral’s beautiful Gothic nave in the heart of Buckhead.
