The vintage trains of the Tennessee Valley Railroad’s Summerville Steam experience follow a historic route from Grand Junction Station in Chattanooga to Summerville, Ga., traveling past Chickamauga-Chattanooga National Military Park and through Chickamauga, Rock Spring, LaFayette, Trion and into Summerville. The all-day trip departs at 9 a.m. and returns about 6 p.m. A dining car lunch is optional and, during a 90-minute layover in Summerville, passengers can explore the town and adjacent Dowdy Park with its historic turntable.
