Marietta Theatre Company’s inaugural season opens with the musical Forever Plaid, a sendup of 1950s guy groups (the Four Aces, the Four Freshmen). It features four fresh-faced high schoolers putting their spin on the era’s close harmonies — “Three Coins in the Fountain,” “Gotta Be This or That,” “Sixteen Tons,” “Chain Gang,” “Love Is a Many-Splendored Thing,” among many others. Wearing plaid is optional. Our season-ticket dealz includes the four other musicals lined up in 2017/18 — The Last Five Years, First Date, The Marvelous Wonderettes and [title of show]. The company performs at the Lyric Studio on the Square in Marietta.
