Jar the Floor, Cheryl West’s beloved dramatic comedy, features four generations of women who gather to celebrate their matriarch’s 90th birthday, where they share memories and air grievances. The piece explores the legacy of guilt and hostility that is passed from even the most loving mother to a daughter, and, at the same time, shows that particular intimacy to be innately funny and wonderful.
