The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra turns to lighter fare this summer with a  lineup that features a pop-opera vocal quartet, an Oscar-winning film, the Fab Four and Sweden’s best-known export. Check out this schedule to see what tickles your fancy.

JULY 4th ALL-AMERICAN CELEBRATION

8 p.m. July 4 at Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park. Featuring Broadway performer Debbie Gravitte, the U.S. Army Chorus and David Abell conducting the ASO. Plus post-concert fireworks. $15-$35.

FREE COMMUNITY CONCERT

8 p.m. July 7 at Atlanta Symphony Hall. Ward Stare conducts the ASO.

THE MATRIX LIVE

8 p.m. July 14 at Atlanta Symphony Hall. See the sci-fi thriller accompanied by the sounds of the ASO. Donald Davis conducts. $29-$49.

CELEBRATE THE BEATLES

8 p.m. July 21 at Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre. The members of Beatles tribute band Classical Mystery Tour look and sound amazingly like the Fab Four. They join the ASO to re-create such hits as “Penny Lane,” “Yesterday,” “She Loves You” and more. Martin Herman conducts. $15-$35.

MUSIC OF ABBA

8 p.m. Aug. 4. at Chastain Park Amphitheatre. Arrival From Sweden, a group featuring ABBA’s original musicians, joins the ASO for some sweet ’70s pop-rock. $25-$294.

MUSICAL MAGIC OF JOHN WILLIAMS

8 p.m. Aug. 8 at Chastain Park Amphitheatre. Principal pops conductor Michael Krajewski leads the ASO in a salute to composer John Williams’ movie scores — Star Wars, Indiana Jones, ET, Jaws, Jurassic Park and Harry Potter. $19-$240.

FREE COMMUNITY CONCERT

8 p.m. Aug. 11. Atlanta Symphony Hall. Jacomo Bairos conducts the ASO.

IL DIVO 

8 p.m. Aug. 12 at Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre. The classical crossover quartet makes the only Southeastern appearance on its 2012 tour. With the ASO. $40-$125.
