MEET ENCORE ATLANTA
Diane has been in business with her husband, Tom Casey (AMP publisher and president) ever since they married. They met in her hometown of Westbury, N.Y. (on Long Island) and has been in Atlanta since 1971. They have two children — Kristi Casey Sanders (AMP treasurer) and Evan Casey (AMP secretary) — 4 grandchildren and 2 rescue pups, a 9-year-old Yorkie named Diva and a 7-year-old Yorkie/Maltese mix named Jax. Her love of theater came from her parents, who took her to Broadway shows as a child. In Atlanta, Diane has acted in TV commercials, industrial films, modeled and did bit parts in movies. She’s thrilled to work in a business that supports the arts, which have always been a passion. Diane and Tom live in Roswell. Her favorite Encore-related production: The Phantom of the Opera.
Vice President of Sales
Ginger considers herself the “face” of Encore Atlanta. She was born in Florida but has been loving life in Atlanta for the past 30 years. She’s still drawn to the sun and Vitamin Sea, however, so don’t be surprised if you get a sales call from the beach. Ginger has been with the company for four years and has a background as an entrepreneur, business owner, tourism & economic development advocate, and business manager. She’s worked on a presidential campaign, is an unpaid therapist for friends, and a wine, food and travel enthusiast. She was once asked to model but said “no thanks” because it required her to go without makeup. She has 3 adult children, 2 cats (Tigger and Bear), 1 dog (Houston) and is enjoying “Gigi” moments with her first grandchild, Stelola. Her motto: Work is play. Play is work. Does it get any better? Her favorite Encore-related show: Kinky Boots.
Controller, aka Chief Bean Counter
Suzzie unofficially calls herself “Recaller of Forgotten Information” and “Clean Up on Aisle 11.” She was born in Mableton and has been with the company for 14 years. She now lives in Concord with her husband (her high-school sweetheart), whom she calls Lt. Yummy McYummerson. They have 3 grown children, 2 more in high school, 2 grandsons, 2 German Shepherds and a min-pin-terrier mix. In previous lives she owned a residential garbage company and ran a bed-and-breakfast (not at the same time or same location). The B&B idea likely will circle back around in a few years. She enjoys the freedom, flexibility and fun of working at AMP. Her favorite Encore-related production: Wicked.
Director of Marketing and Social Media
Stephanie is a multigenerational Atlantan (her great-grandmother grew up across the street from Piedmont Park). At work, she “polices the crazy,” which means she oversees all marketing efforts including sales materials, email eblasts, surveys, ad placement, venue partnerships, PoshDealz, customer service and everything publisher/president Tom Casey tosses her way. At play, she spends as much time as possible with Charlie the Goldendoodle (aka Sir Charles Doodle), who has an Instagram page with almost 6,000 followers. You can see him there as “Popeye Charlie,” “Charlie the Lumberjack,” at the wheel of a fire-red Mini Cooper and attired for any number of national holidays. Stephanie has a B.S. in human and organizational development from Vanderbilt University, has been with the company since graduating 7 years ago and lives in Brookhaven. Her favorite Encore Atlanta-related show: The Bodyguard.
Whitney helps our massive one-man production team with design, traffic control, layout and internal marketing. Whitney has been with AMP for about 15 years (taking a few years off when her 2 girls were younger). She grew up in Alpharetta and lives in Milton (“which is essentially Alpharetta,” she says), with husband Luke, daughters Audrey, 7, and Samantha, 4, and two large dogs. She likes to cook, sing and dance, and is a bit of a bird wrangler, regularly having to free birds from her house. A highlight: rescuing a hawk that she was momentarily able to hold in her hands. She also has a favorite quote: “It’s not about having the skill to do something. It’s about having the will, desire and commitment to be your best.” Her favorite Encore Atlanta-related show: Jersey Boys.
Kathy joined Encore Atlanta as its first managing editor in 2012 and became editor a few years later. She’s a one-person newsroom, responsible for all feature stories in all the books, all non-advertising content on the website, contributing to Facebook and Twitter, and editing/creating pretty much anything written that will be seen outside the company. She says it’s like being an orchestra conductor and playing all the instruments all at the same time. Kathy, a proud Wisconsin native, is a diehard Wisconsin Badgers and Green Bay Packers fan. She’s spent her career toggling between arts journalism and working in theater (marketing and dramaturgy). She’s called Atlanta home for 30-plus years and is the proud parent of 5 fine felines (Nina, Millie, Rudy, Tallulah and Bing Catsby). Her favorite Encore-related show: Hamilton. Second: the Lincoln Center tour of South Pacific with the astonishing Carmen Cusack.
Mark F Baxter
Mark joined Encore Atlanta in 2013 and was a production artist until his promotion. He calls his 5 years with the company “one of the best years of my life.” Bada-boom. Mark makes sure that every print book we produce — for the Fox Theatre, Alliance Theatre, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, The Atlanta Opera, Rialto Center for the Arts, Cobb Energy Performing Art Center, Sandy Springs Performing Arts Center and any custom-publishing projects — is designed, proofed, approved and sent to the printer ON TIME. He has worked in print and radio (he wanted to grow up to write for Rolling Stone and produce Top 40 hits) and is a tireless, amazingly patient self-taught designer. He’s studied six languages (not fluent in any), enjoys cooking (his colleagues thank him) and loves Kentucky basketball. Mark lives in Smyrna with his canine co-workers, Maggie Waggie and Bud Weiser. Favorite Encore Atlanta-related shows: Evita and Cabaret.
Ian is responsible for day-to-day digital operations and long-term projects, including digital media campaigns, email marketing, production servers, and the design and troubleshooting of the Encore Atlanta website. He’s dogged about staying ahead of the technology curve, so he spends a lot of time … staring at his crystal ball. He has a B.A. in media arts and animation from the Art Institute of Atlanta and has studied web design. He’s been with AMP since June 2013. Like many Southern boys, he wanted to grow up to be an astronaut, NASCAR driver or pro wrestler. He scratched the wrestling itch for a while as a referee and then a low-level “jobber” (the guy who makes the other wrestlers look good). Ian lives in the Canton area with his wife, Becca, their 1-year-old son, Christian, and a super-hyper, sort of wrinkly Shar-Pei mix named Sadie.
