Broadway legend Norm Lewis leads a stellar cast in the national tour of A Soldier’s Play, which heads to the Fox Theatre, March 28-April 2.

The 1982 Pulitzer Prize-winning thriller by Charles Fuller won a Tony Award in 2020 for Best Revival and the moving play, directed by Kenny Leon, has been selling out theatres around the country.

The story takes place in 1944, on a Louisiana Army base, when two shots ring out and a Black sergeant is murdered. A series of interrogations triggers a gripping barrage of questions about sacrifice, service, and identity in America.

Lewis stars as Captain Richard Davenport. He is joined by Will Adams as Corporal Bernard Cobb, Sheldon D. Brown as Private C.J. Memphis, Malik Esoj Childs as Private Tony Smalls, William Connell as Captain Charles Taylor, and Eugene Lee, who originated the role of Corporal Bernard Cobb in the original 1981 Off-Broadway production, as Vernon C. Waters.
