This theatrical adaptation of Maira Kalman’s one-of-a-kind book Max Makes A Million includes poetry, dance, jazz, and visual art. Celebrated theatre artist Liz Diamond adapted and directed the show, which follows Max Stravinsky, a beat-poet dog, on his journey to Paris to celebrate those wishful thinkers who dare to dream beyond what seems possible. In collaboration with this Alliance Theatre show, the High Museum of Art presents The Pursuit of Everything: Maira Kalman’s Books for Children, a colorful exhibition exploring the imaginative stories and illustrations that Kalman has brought to readers of the past 30 years.
