“Clothing should be quieter than the woman so that          her true beauty can shine through.” So says fashion designer Elie Tahari.

ELIE TAHARI exemplifies the American Dream. He came to this country with only his talent and drive. They propelled him to build a fashion empire in the mid-1970s. Today, he’s a successful, beloved and respected designer.

During a visit to Saks Fifth Avenue in Atlanta, where a runway show featured his fall 2018 ready-to-wear collection, the Iranian-Israeli designer made time to visit with Fashionado’s E. Vincent Martinez.

Tahari, 66, spoke about his early days in New York City and working at a women’s boutique, which motivated him to join the fashion industry. He also shared his thoughts about womenswear, menswear, trends, where he finds his inspiration and a sneak peek into his 2019 plans.
