Atlanta beer enthusiasts can now travel in style, by bus. And we don’t mean that facetiously. Meet the Atlanta Beer Bus, a hop-on/hop-off shuttle that travels a continuous loop to as many as nine breweries, distilleries and cideries on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

A trip to beer-loving Asheville, N.C., convinced businessman Travis Irions to create the Atlanta Beer Bus.

The bus, which launched in late May, is $15 per person. That buys unlimited access to heated/air-conditioned shuttle buses with group seating, knowledgeable drivers and music. Imbibers create their own adventure, staying as long or as little as they like at any stop.

The stops include Monday Night Brewing, Red Brick Brewing Co.Scofflaw Brewing Co., Second Self Beer Co. and Urban Tree Cidery in West Midtown; ASW Distillery in the Brookwood Hills area; SweetWater Brewing Co. in the Armour area; Orpheus Brewing overlooking Piedmont Park; and Park Tavern in Piedmont Park. The shuttles also stop at the Midtown MARTA station. Routes vary depending on breweries’ opening and closing times.  The shuttles run 4-10 p.m. Friday; noon-10 p.m. Saturday; and 1-6 p.m. Sunday. Details, updates HERE.

The shuttle idea came from craft-beer lover Travis Irions, after a trip to Asheville, N.C.

“I was inspired by how ingrained the breweries were in the community and immediately wanted to re-create a similar experience,” says Irions, who has a background in banking and hospitality. “Atlanta’s craft beer community is devoted and passionate, and there’s an undeniable sense of camaraderie.”
