The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra returns to Piedmont Park for a free concert at 7:30 p.m. June 23.

The program, led by assistant conductor Joseph Young, includes The Barber of Seville overture by Rossini, Dave Brubeck’s Concerto for Bass Trombone featuring the ASO’s Brian Hecht, Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5 and James Brown’s “I Feel Good.”

The performance is on Oak Hill, in the southwest corner of the park. The ASO first played in Piedmont Park in 1976, under the leadership of Robert Shaw, and has played more than 100 concerts there since.

Know before you go

  • Admission is free. No tickets are required.
  • Seating with a direct view of the stage is not guaranteed. Seating is first-come, first-served, so you might want to arrive early.
  • There is limited parking at the Atlanta Botanical Garden parking facility, adjacent to the park. Concertgoers are encouraged to carpool, take MARTA (via the Arts Center station), walk or bike.
  •  Food and beverages are allowed in the concert area; grills, glass containers and alcohol are not. Have fun!
