arisSay hello to one of Atlanta’s newest theater companies, the Celtic-inspired Arís (ah-REESH), which means “again” or “encore” in Irish. If you recall Theater Gael a few years back, you get the idea; if not, be on the lookout for a range of plays from Ireland, Scotland and Wales that you likely won’t see on other metro stages. Up first: The Electric Ballroom by Tony Award-winning Irish playwright Enda Walsh (Once), a memory play about three sisters in a rural Irish village. The cast is first-rate: Patricia French, Steve Hudson, Holly Stevenson and Barbara Cole Uterhardt. Act fast! The run ends June 15.
