redbadgeRed Badge of Courage, Stephen Crane’s epic Civil War novel, comes to the stage in a new adaptation co-produced by 7 Stages and Kennesaw State University’s College of the Arts. It tells the story of a Union private named Henry Fleming, who runs from the field of battle. Overcome with shame, he longs for a wound — a “red badge of courage” — to counteract his cowardice. This immersive retelling, co-created by 7 Stages’ Michael Haverty and KSU’s Jane Barnette, combines the art of professional actor Bryan Mercer, four KSU students, tabletop puppetry, projected silhouettes and animation. It runs through March 23 at the Little Five Points theater (connected to a combination bar/coffeehouse).
