harabel cropHarabel, or A Sparrow Over a Minefield, received its world premiere in a two-night run at Theatrical Outfit last winter. Now it’s back for a well-deserved three weeks. It’s written and performed in stunning fashion by Jonida Beqo (Yo-NEE-duh BAY-chow), perhaps best known locally as a costume designer and on the international slam/performance poetry scene as Gypsee Yo. Her autobiographical  “little sparrow” is told in dance, dialogue, poems and video, snapshots actually, that tell the tale of one brave girl as she travels from her home in warring Albania to the American South, and makes the transition from stranger to American. This distinctive piece will inspire you to embrace life.
