ArtCAN_fb_Logo.jpgIt’s called ArtCAN, brings together members of the arts and cancer communities, and raises money for the Joseph C. Monastra Foundation for Pancreatic Research. Creators describe the benefit as “a unique and original fundraising event featuring performing and visual artists from around the world who have been closely affected by cancer.”

This year’s fundraiser, the third in Atlanta, is Nov. 9 at the Atlanta Ballet’s Michael C. Carlos Dance Centre. The evening includes hors d’oeuvres, cocktails, a keynote address reviewing recent breakthroughs in cancer research, raffle prizes, live music, artistic performances and a fine-art silent auction. Look for performances from the Atlanta Ballet, Atlanta Opera, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and the Alliance Theatre.

Tickets are $75. Host and patron sponsorships range from $150 to $500. Corporate sponsorships are available. Details HERE.

The foundation was established in 2002 in honor of Monastra, a father and husband who died four weeks after his diagnosis. It supports pancreatic cancer research at Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions and Emory University School of Medicine.
