Waffle House has added the title of arts sponsor to its plate. The restaurant chain, the inspiration for The Waffle Palace: Scattered, Covered & Smothered 24/7/365, is sponsoring the encore run of Horizon Theatre‘s late summer hit.

The comedy by playwrights Eddie Levi Lee and Larry Larson begins an open-ended run Jan. 11. Tickets, details HERE or at 404.584.7450.

Also cooking is a free party for the cast, playwrights, and fans of both the restaurant and the show at the Waffle House Museum from noon to 3 p.m. Jan.12. The museum is at 219 E. College Ave. in Decatur. Free museum tours are available for those who can’t resist, and dinner-and-show packages will be raffled off.

Lee and Larson concocted the comedy based on imagined and real-life happenings at Waffle Houses everywhere. Most of the original cast returns. Tickets are $20 to $30; if you pop for an extra $15, you can upgrade to a reserved seat and receive a complimentary beverage. (Pictured: Maria Rodriguez-Sager and Marguerite Hannah)
