Good news music lovers: Music Midtown is returning to Atlanta after a six-year hiatus.

The festival will occur on Sept. 24 in the meadow of Piedmont Park. Bands will include Coldplay, The Black Keys, Cage the Elephant, Manchester Orchestra, Young the Giant, Band of Skulls, Joy Formidable, The Constellations, Mona and The Postelles.

General admission tickets are $55 plus a $1 donation for Mayor Kasim Reed’s Center of Hope initiative. Two different VIP packages cost $250 and $1,000 per ticket. The $250 ticket includes perks such as a private VIP entrance, outdoor hospitality area with food and beverages, and private air-conditioned restrooms. Those purchasing the $1,000 ticket have access to those perks as well as valet parking, a backstage viewing area, indoor hospitality area with food and beverages and an event T-shirt.

The mayor’s initiative plans to transform moribund city recreation centers into safe centers where young people can engage in physical activities, get tutoring in difficult academic areas and develop character-building traits.
