The engaging and lyrical Ms. Chen, the Orchestra’s former Assistant Conductor, returns with Hindemith’s colorful and gently humorous suite, while Mr. Parker sizzles in Rachmaninov’s great set of variations for piano and orchestra. Dvo?ák’s lyrical, easygoing Eighth seems to grow directly out of the folk music of the Czech countryside.
