The Color Purple is coming home to Atlanta July 15-Aug. 3, 2008, kicking off its national tour. Originally developed by the Alliance Theatre, the musical adaptation of Alice Walker’s novel opened on Broadway on Dec. 1, 2006, and still enjoys a successful run.
Nominated for 11 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, The Color Purple, The Musical About Love, is about a woman named Celie who finds the strength to triumph over adversity and discover her unique voice.
