Get better acquainted with what’s considered the only truly indigenous form of American music at the B.B. King Museum and Delta Interpretive Center. An hour and a half north of Jackson, Miss., in B.B. King’s hometown of Indianola, Miss., the museum is a living memorial that celebrates the 60+ year career of the blues ambassador himself. In addition to several exhibits chronicling various decades of King’s career, visitors can engage with several hands-on exhibits, including an interactive guitar studio, where they can make their own music. Also on display are King’s personal papers, awards and a home recording studio.
