Lights out
Experience the world without sight at the Dialog in the Dark exhibit in Atlantic Station. Led by visually impaired guides, visitors are taken on a hour-long journey through pitch black galleries that resemble our everyday environment. Without vision, you’ll be challenged to rely on your other senses as you navigate your surroundings with nothing more than instincts and a cane. Near the end of the exhibit, there will be a group discussion, also in the dark, where you’ll have a chance for open dialogue with your guide. Founded by Andreas Heinecke, Ph.D., former vice-director of the Foundation for the Blind in Hamburg, Germany, Dialog in the Dark was created to help eradicate prejudice and ignorance of the challenges sightless people face.
