The celebrated American composer John Corigliano has written a percussion concerto (an Atlanta premiere) that displays Evelyn Glennie’s astounding virtuosity. No exploration of music made in America would be complete without Dvorak’s monumental Ninth Symphony, inspired by his love of Native American and African-American melodies.
