Fox Theater honored by The League of Historic American Theatres
The League of Historic American Theatres presented the 2011 Outstanding Historic Theater Award to the Fox Theatre and managing non-profit organization Atlanta Landmarks. The award celebrates superior preservation, restoration and operation of theaters throughout North America.
The League also praised the Fox for its community outreach programs, AileyCamp and the Rising Stars Program, and commended the Fox on the quality of its programming, services, physical restoration, and ability to inspire excellence among other historic theaters.
I am so proud of the Fox Theater and those who operate and support it! I have long loved this beautiful facility and attend events there often. After years of visiting the Fox, I still am amazed at it’s beauty and unique architecture every time I enter through those elegant doors. The Fox is definitely a part of Atlanta’s history and it’s future.
